Hey everyone,
Been stacking for a while now, mostly BTC and some ETH. I’m curious about how much BTC and ETH you think is needed to reach a million-dollar goal in crypto. Like, if I keep a 1:10 ratio, that's 1 BTC for every 10 ETH. Do you think having 7 BTC and 70 ETH by 2025 would get me there?
How Much Crypto Do You Need to Hit $1 Million?

7 BTC could be enough. For that to happen, BTC needs to hit around $140k. If you're cool with a million making you comfortable, that’s a solid plan, just don’t forget taxes.
But if we ditch ETH for a sec, those 7 BTC might actually become 11 BTC given the current ETH/BTC ratio. At that point, BTC only needs to hit ~$93k to reach the million mark.
You’ve made a smart choice with BTC. Just a heads up, make sure to use a non-custodial wallet and keep your keys secure. If you stack up to 7 BTC, you’re looking good since Bitcoin is a solid investment.
Honestly, ETH's glory days seem over. It’s lost value against BTC over the years. These days, the only way ETH rises is when BTC does, and often it doesn’t rise as fast.

Right now, 7 BTC + 70 ETH is about $550k. So doubling that isn’t impossible. I get your point, but ETH usually does better in bull runs. Even the rubbish like XRP can outperform.

I think 7 BTC could make you a millionaire eventually. And 70 ETH has potential as well, especially if you’re into staking. By 2029, that stack should definitely put you in the millions.

It really varies by where you live. Cost of living plays a big role. A true 1:10 ratio would be 1 BTC to 2 ETH in actual USD value.

Predicting how much BTC you'll need to be a millionaire is tough, and trying to figure out the BTC:ETH ratio just adds to the complexity. I’d stick with BTC myself; it’s been crushing the alts.
Honestly, I’d say you’re gonna need at least 10 BTC to hit that million mark by the next bull run. If BTC hits 100k, you’ll be halfway there.
ETH to BTC ratio is around 0.0523 but could change if that ETH ETF gets approved. If it does, ETH could outperform BTC for a while before everything starts to drop.
Thanks for all the thoughts, everyone! Really helpful!
And yeah, that million can mean different things depending on your country. For some, it’s a comfy retirement; for others, not so much. If you’re smart, you can make that last.
That’s a lot of crypto to hold. If BTC hits 100k soon, you might just become a millionaire by then! And ETH usually follows BTC; just hold tight.
What’s the reason for your 1:10 ratio in ETH? Not super sure it’ll perform as well as BTC this cycle.
When I started in crypto back in 2020, I wanted a decent chunk in the two biggest projects BTC and ETH. I see potential in both, but BTC has always been my main focus.
The OP didn’t say what kind of lifestyle they want in retirement. But yeah, a million won’t last long for a luxury life anywhere. If someone can live on $5k a month, they could stretch that million.
For this cycle, I think 7 BTC can definitely hit a million. 7 BTC + 70 ETH might even be worth over $1.7 million at its peak.

Just multiply current prices to figure this out. Like, if BTC is 50k, you need 20 BTC for a million. If it hits 100k, then 10 BTC is all you need.
Getting to a million through Bitcoin won’t be easy. It might peak at $180k, but then it’ll drop again. Just gotta run the numbers to see how much you need.
