So the WazirX hack was a total disaster. 234 million bucks gone, and it's all on the users now. The exchange is trying to socialize those losses, which is just wild.
Honestly, they totally deserve the backlash. If I was a user, I'd scream about it. This shows how clueless their leadership is. Passing the buck instead of owning up is just weak. I'd pull my funds out ASAP.
Exactly, this is why keeping coins on exchanges is risky. WazirX's approach is a sign of their incompetence. If they can't share profits, why should they share losses? It’s ridiculous.
Couldn’t agree more. Asking users to share the losses is bad leadership all the way. It's a real setback for crypto adoption. And the fact that law enforcement can’t help makes it worse.
If they go through with that plan, users are gonna flip. They should legally compensate users, not push losses onto them. Losing 45% is huge and they should take responsibility.
True, socializing losses should only be a last resort. Glad to hear they’re looking for other options like mergers. But they really need a fair repayment plan.
I've heard of companies recovering stolen coins through negotiations with hackers. Sometimes they even offer rewards to keep the peace. But users are always the last priority in these scenarios.
I wouldn’t agree to socializing losses. Locking up 45% of users’ funds is just insane. The exchange needs to step up their security. I wouldn’t trust them at all.
It's a terrible way to run a business. If they can't take responsibility, why are they still operating? Users shouldn’t have to deal with WazirX’s failures.
That’s a legal grey area. Exchanges can shut down like Hotbit did. I lost $50 there and got nothing back. No way I’m trusting another exchange with my crypto.
An exchange can’t just shut down and take off with people's money. If you didn’t withdraw before a deadline, that’s on you. But Hotbit did give notice.
WazirX isn’t even filing for bankruptcy. They’re getting a moratorium to figure things out. At least they’re trying to recover from this disaster instead of running away.
