Does a text file on a website count as a valid software license?

I’m in a bit of a bind here. My broker, who I trust a lot, has a client interested in buying my FBA business. The kicker is that the software licensing for the business is supposedly secured, particularly with this bitcoin gambling site called Bustabit. But here’s the issue: all I can provide is a link to their licensing agreement, which is just a plain text file on their website (bustabit.com/license.txt). My broker is asking for actual copies of the licensing agreements. Is a text file like that even legit? I called out Bustabit in their thread, hoping to get clarity, but no luck so far.

That’s sketchy, man. A text file doesn’t seem like a solid proof of licensing to me. I mean, how can anyone verify what’s in it? A real license should come with some kind of formal documentation, right? Just posting a link isn’t enough.

+1 to that. I wouldn't count it as valid either. Real licenses usually come with more than just a URL. Have you tried reaching out to them directly? Maybe they can send you something more official.

Not sure about that. If your broker’s client wants real assurance, they might not accept just a text file. You could end up rekt if you don’t clarify this.

So just to be clear, you’re saying a simple.txt file isn’t enough proof? What if that’s all they provide? In the crypto world, things can be pretty loose sometimes.

It might fly in some circles, but I wouldn’t risk it. You definitely need something more substantial to present to a buyer.
