Could OP_CAT Already Be Here?

So I came across something interesting. There's this opcode in tapscript, 0x7e, which is actually OP_SUCCESS. But back when Satoshi was coding, he set 126 as OP_CAT, which is now disabled. So is it a glitch on mempool.space or a hint of something coming up?

Yeah, I saw that too. But we can't actually concatenate strings in Bitcoin right now. So, what’s the point of talking about OP_CAT?

There's no OP_CAT anymore, dude. In a Taproot script, 0x7e just means OP_SUCCESS. You really think anyone's gonna build on that? OP_SUCCESS is nonstandard, so good luck getting those transactions to spread.

Interesting. The transaction was made by @rot13maxi, a fan of OP_CAT. I heard it got disabled in 2010. Was there even a transaction using it before that?

Nope, not in the Bitcoin blockchain. Those scripts just don’t execute like that.
