Concerns About the Term 'Smartcontract'

So, we’ve been hearing from some random folks about this issue. Seems like they’re not happy with us using the term "smartcontract". What’s up with that?

Yeah, they’re claiming there’s some live trademark on that word. But honestly, it sounds a bit sketchy. From what I understand, to actually enforce it, you’d need to be in the US and running a similar biz to theirs. And honestly, I haven’t seen any proof of what their biz even is. Sounds like a stretch to me.

+1, I totally agree. Also, I think for trademarks to stick, they usually need to show actual damage caused by the misuse. So unless they can prove we’re harming their brand, this feels like empty threats.
