Back in '73, three billionaire brothers started loading up on silver when the dollar was losing value. Silver was just around $1.5 to $2 per ounce then. They bought so much that they controlled a huge chunk of silver worldwide, which led to a market shortage. By '79, silver skyrocketed to nearly $50! Crazy right?

Silver isn’t to blame, tbh. The US government wanted to control it, causing a price crash. If the government hadn’t interfered, silver could’ve been a real competitor to gold. Gold is backed by the government, which is why its price is more stable.

Totally! It's wild how these things play out. If buying silver is restricted, who’s left to buy it when it’s sold? The price drop was because of margin calls or some new rule, can't remember the details. Silver’s value is all about supply and demand.

Exactly! Silver isn't just a safe haven. It's industrial too. Remember how it tanked in '08? It wasn’t the worst, but it proved that silver's value fluctuates with the economy.

use was definitely a factor with the Hunt brothers. They tried to monopolize silver, and it backfired. We saw something similar with that paper use thing around 2026.

You nailed it! Silver shines during economic growth, but comparing it to gold isn’t fair. Gold’s stability is unmatched.

Exactly! Gold is a safe haven, moving steadily. Silver’s tied to the economy, so expect some price swings. It’s a mix of risks and opportunities.

Limited supply assets like gold and silver will keep increasing in value against fiat currencies. But yeah, bubbles happen too. Media hype and inflation push people to gold and silver.

I see plenty of silver hype online. A Youtuber even called it the most undervalued asset. Not sure I trust that though. Sure, demand’s rising from tech, but who knows? Prices could go sideways.

With everything going on economically, gold and silver are definitely safe havens. They can hold their value during inflation periods, just like history suggests.

It’s true! Social media is rife with exaggerated claims about silver. Just a year ago, silver was around $25-30, and nobody cared.

Investing in silver aside from gold? Depends on your risk appetite. Bitcoin's the real deal for me, but silver could be another option.

Honestly, if it were up to me, I’d say stick to Bitcoin. It grows faster than anything else. Timing is key; invest wisely.

Great story about the brothers! They put all their eggs in one basket with silver and got wrecked. A lesson in diversification for sure.

Exactly! The government intervened back then. Crypto is different; they can’t just shut down Bitcoin. But exchanges? They can control those.

With the EU changing its car emissions plans, silver demand for EVs could dip. That said, silver still has many industrial uses that could keep it valuable.

Sure, but any big news can affect prices, even in crypto. It's all about sentiment and market response.

True, but it’s everywhere, not just silver. Even in crypto, people panic and sell during bear markets. They miss out on buying opportunities and profit later.

Silver’s demand won’t drop even if the AI bubble bursts. It’s used in electric cars and solar panels. Prices might rise!

Cycles of silver and Bitcoin are super different. With Bitcoin, you can recoup your investment faster than with silver, which can take years.
