Just wanted to drop my thoughts on the new Pi firmware and MMC update. So, here’s the deal: you gotta grab the firmware from the Canaan site. First things first, use system->flash firmware to update your Raspberry Pi with the.img file. Then go to status->cgminer configuration and switch to LowPower mode. Finally, load the.mcs file with status->mmupgrade. I tested it and my 841 used to pull 1285Ws at 13.3TH/s, now it’s more efficient.

Asciboost needs a specific chip that supports it. If you’re running anything before the A10, it ain’t gonna work. Just saying.

I managed to hit an efficiency of 102 on my 851. Tbh, I was getting around 94 a while back with an older firmware. I might squeeze more out of it since I haven't really messed with the lower frequencies yet.

Don’t forget, you gotta run the April 4th firmware in LowPower mode for better performance. It really makes a difference.

I’m using the April firmware with some custom tweaks. The LowPower mode just automates certain settings, nothing groundbreaking. The highest efficiency I got was 102j/ths, but I had better luck before, like 94j/ths on an earlier version. And yeah, the 851s seem to lag behind the 841s in efficiency.
