Can I Restore a Blockchain.info Backup with Bitcoin-Qt?

Is restoring a wallet backup from blockchain.info only possible with Multibit? Can’t I use Bitcoin-Qt for that?

You can actually export your wallet from Blockchain.info unencrypted. Just import the keys into Bitcoin-Qt afterwards. It’s pretty straightforward.

I’m just worried, what if blockchain.info goes down along with MultiBit? How would I get my wallet back? I mean, I get it’s unlikely but still...

As long as you have your private keys backed up, you’re good to go.

I realize this is an old thread but I need help. Trying to restore my blockchain.info wallet using the aes backup. Is Bitcoin-Qt still an option since Multibit is obsolete?

If that doesn’t work, try downloading the "My Wallet Backup Decryption Tool" from GitHub. Run it offline, load your wallet.aes.json, and enter the password to decrypt. Then you can access your wallets.
