I’ve mostly mined altcoins before getting into Bitcoin mining. Always loved dual mining with GPUs, where you mine two coins at once. So, can we do that with ASICs? Like mining BCH and BTC simultaneously?

Not really, man. Dual mining works when coins use different algorithms. Mining two coins with the same algorithm, like BCH and BTC, isn't efficient. Best option? Mine one coin in a pool for a few days, then switch to solo.

It’s a tricky situation. A single hash can only tackle one block at a time, so you can’t really mine two coins at once. But, with the right software, you could split your hashrate. Still, why bother? Most pools already do smart mining.

Totally agree with you there. Dual mining only makes sense if the algorithms are different, one’s memory-bound and the other’s compute-bound. You can’t maximize both all the time.

Honestly, it’s kinda dumb to run two coins on one ASIC. But, some pools offer bonus coins to mine. Like how ETH and ZIL worked together.

ASICs can mine multiple coins, for sure. You can dual mine Litecoin and some others. But watch out, mining altcoins like Kaspa has its risks. Stick to Bitcoin if you've got the setup.

Splitting the hash? Yeah, it’s actually easy if you have enough machines and software.

Sounds like you’re talking about Braiins Proxy with its multiple pool feature. You need a Linux or Raspberry Pi to set it up. If you’ve got extra hardware, go for it. But if you’ve just one miner, might not be worth it.

Why complicate things? Just use pools that support merge mining. ViaBTC or F2Pool are good options. You can mine BTC and get altcoin rewards at the same time.

Exactly, switching pools is simple with standard firmware. You can set multiple pools and change them whenever you want. Just takes a few minutes!

That’s the way to go. Monthly switches keep equipment problems low and minimize downtime. You can even mine solo for a month, then regular for a few months. Keeps it interesting.

Dual mining on ASICs used to be rare, but a lot of newer altcoin ASICs support it now. Bet we’ll see dual mining for Bitcoin ASICs soon if profits keep dropping.
