Anyone know if there's a way to brute-force a BIP39 seed? Like if I have 11 words and just need one more. Or I have 8 in the right order, but the other 4 are mixed up. What are my options?
You might want to check out this tool called btcrecover. The documentation is pretty straightforward. It’s supposed to help with recovering those seeds.
Yeah I heard about btcrecover too. But if you’re looking for something simpler, try FinderOuter. Just keep in mind it doesn't support GPU right now while BTCRecover does. Plus, you need either a child private key, public key, or Bitcoin address to use it.
If you use btcrecover, make sure to run seedrecover.py from their library. There’s a quick start guide you can follow. Also, it’s better if you know your funds' address but you can generate a list of possible addresses if you don’t. Just a heads up, you gotta install Python and some libraries to get it working.
