So, BFL's Monarch boards are finally shipping out. Just saw one on Ebay and thought, "MAN, it would be a blast to mess with it." Looks pretty sick.

Edit: Just snatched one on Ebay for about a grand in Bitcoin. Can't wait till Wednesday when it arrives! Haha!
Let’s make this a cool thread for sharing pics and ideas. I’m not here for negativity, just want tech talk and support for those who got them.

I’ve shared some watt and temp readings with lightfoot. He’ll break down the details.
These are super easy to set up. Way quieter than the singles and surprisingly cool considering the heat they throw out, plus they can work at high temps. My CoinTerra rig needs a dedicated A/C line to run at all, but these? Just a fan is enough.
Ognasty took some nice pics. I’ll post the best ones soon.
First up: the backside of the board. Wow, that’s a serious setup for cooling the voltage drop. Those FETs and gate drivers are gonna work hard and generate some heat.
Hey OgNasty, you think you could take off the water cooler for a better look at the die?
We need that ASIC pr0n!

Hmm, might be a challenge. You know if BFL has ever shared pics of their chip?

Someone buy me one, and I’ll do a live unboxing! Then, I’ll attempt to put it back together.

Got some temp readings from Og. Gonna check them out tonight and share the highlights. First impressions? The cooling is on point with those water blocks.
Right?! Super nice.
No way, man. Lightfoot’s gonna crack and buy a Monarch soon, just wait.
Seriously though. Almost $3k for 1 Th. What’s the point?
I think I just went blind looking at these!
<3 for ASIC pr0n.
Mr. Teal, are you considering making your own board for these chips, like the habanero?

I doubt BFL is selling bare chips anymore like with their older 65nm line. They’re just packaging them in the Monarchs.
Guess what, I officially own a BFL 700gh Monarch just bought it for a cool $1k in Bitcoin. Woohoo!
It should arrive by Wed/Thu, and I’m planning to open it up since no one else is doing that right now!
FTFY and good vibes to you!
I’ll get into it by next weekend. One’s coming in on Ebay by Wednesday.

If you reach out to sales, I bet they’d work with you if you’re ordering in bulk.
