Hey everyone!
I just took my ETH off Binance and moved it to a Ledger wallet for staking. There are a lot of options like Lido, Coinbase, and Chorus One in the app. Lido and Coinbase offer around 2.5% APY while Chorus One is showing 3.5%. I haven’t really heard about Chorus One before anyone know if it’s reliable? What do you all suggest for staking? What’s the best protocol or strategy?

This convo belongs more in the altcoin section. If you’re using a hardware wallet like Ledger, you need to hook it up to a browser wallet, like MetaMask, to engage with those dapps. Check out Ledger’s site for how to do this.
Definitely stick to dapps with billions in TVL like Lido or Aave. Those are the safest bets. There are good dapps out there, but also a bunch of scams, so don’t risk your cash for a tiny extra APY.
Chorus One isn’t something I know a lot about, but if it’s being recommended, maybe stick with what you know. Lido has a decent reputation, and Coinbase isn’t bad either.
As for the other staking options on Ledger, I’m not really familiar with them, but you can check their minimum ETH requirements.
Many people don’t realize how risky staking crypto can be.
If things go south, it could cost you a lot. You end up locking your assets in a platform that could be vulnerable to hacks or theft, which is a huge risk for a small reward. I’d advise against staking your ETH for such low returns.
It's not an exchange as he said. Since it’s on the Ledger, his ETH is on his hardware wallet but the platform manages it.
Yeah, there’s risk there too similar to exchanges. I have some ETH but I haven’t felt the urge to stake it anywhere; I’m more into watching the price go up for gains. That 3%-5% APY just doesn’t feel worth the risk.
Honestly, I’ve yet to stake ETH. I’m just taking notes here on Chorus. I have staked Oasis (ROSE) there before and had a good experience. From that, I’d say they’re trustworthy, but you should vet for yourself 30+ assets supported seems solid.
Check out Etherfi it’s offering around 4% APY plus points you can convert into tokens.
The 4% is the base, but you could earn more through airdrops. It’s liquid, and you can redeem it 1:1. Just make sure to do your own research before diving in.
Etherfi looks like the top option for the highest APY right now, but mostly it’s around 4%. Heard they’ve got 7% yield on something called weETH Looping but not too sure about it.
Chorus acts as a validator for a lot of top Proof of Stake chains.
Not much is known about them, but they’ve been around for a while, providing services to POS chains. If they’re offering better deals for staking ETH, it could be due to lower commissions they’re willing to take.

Etherfi’s kinda shifted focus towards their neobank, so staking is taking a backseat lately.
They likely realized that just being a staking dapp isn’t a long-term strategy.
Thanks for all the tips, guys!
I’ve staked on Binance before and got some decent rewards, but with all the new tax policies and controls, I pulled out and moved to Ledger. Still can’t wrap my head around why some folks are scared of staking.
Leaving ETH idle doesn’t make sense to me. Even 2.5% APY could be good like earning 2.5 ETH a year instead of letting it sit. Plus, if ETH’s price spikes, the rewards rise too. How’s that bad?
You’re right about that 7% on Etherfi it’s tied to staking on the Katana platform, which has a 1% base APY and 6% from KAT tokens, though these aren’t liquid. Better to stake somewhere with close to 5% yield than gamble on speculative platforms like Katana.

Honestly, I’m not sure about all this. That APY looks enticing, but you gotta dig deeper.
Find out where that APY comes from. Some protocols can be sketchy with poorly managed funds, risking everything over dumb collateral that can tank overnight. Look at the deUSD and Stream Finance stuff could lose everything there.
