Hey everyone, I'm new to Bitcoin mining. A guy wants to sell me some T17e and S17e for a decent price. I heard the 17 series has a bunch of issues. I can fix computers, so I might be able to handle these machines.
Can anyone share whether T17e and S17e have the same problems? Are they worth the investment?
Are T17e and S17e ASIC Miners Worth It?

First off,
1) Check your electricity rates
2) They’re super loud
3) These machines generate a ton of heat
4) Need a clean space, no dust
5) Good ventilation is key
6) Just a heads-up, my buddy bought 100 of these and 25% failed right out of the gate. He had to pay to ship them back too.
Maybe think it through again. Bitcoin keeps climbing every year, so it might be better to just invest straight into BTC.

For the 17 series, expect around 25% failure rate.
But if you're buying used, probably worse.
Thanks for the insight! Are all models in the 17 series that bad? I read that the S17 Pro might be more reliable. Anyone know if that’s true?
Be careful with the S17 series for sure.
I’ve got 3 S17 Pros from Bitmain, they did fine for a year then started failing. 7 out of 9 hashboards are toast, plus a power supply. Getting repairs is a hassle; 2 boards were unfixable.
If you check eBay, lots of these units are broken or barely working. Honestly, I’d steer clear of S17s.
Got some worries about the S19 since I just picked one up last month.
Whatsminers seem to hold up well. I have one M20.

Pretty much not recommended, I’d say. Quality is terrible, I’ve seen 30% failure rates.
