Are Quantum Computers a Real Threat to Bitcoin?

Quantum computers might ruin Bitcoin's $2 trillion market. BTQ Technologies claims they have a defense ready. Anyone else worried about this stuff? How serious is this threat right now?

I don’t think quantum computers are a threat to Bitcoin for a while. Breaking ECDSA would need millions of qubits, and the best tech now can't even get close. By the time it becomes real, BTC will adapt, trust me.

Honestly, it's just the same old talk about quantum fears. Meanwhile, the real issue is that people don’t even get what Bitcoin really is. I wanna see a thread on quantum risks to banks, not just Bitcoin.

Yeah, nobody cares about a system that’s already failing. Banks get hacked all the time by regular hackers. They should be more worried about quantum tech than Bitcoin, which has never been hacked!

But seriously, what makes you think Bitcoin will just be ready when quantum hits? Upgrading all full nodes won’t be a walk in the park. Just saying.

But does anyone know if quantum tech can crack Ed25519 keys? I’ve seen malware using that, so maybe we’ve got a bit of time?

Last I checked on BTQ Tech, couldn’t find solid proof of their claims. I’m skeptical, especially since nothing much has come out since their testing network launch.
