I've been using DeFi apps and crypto wallets for a while but never really thought about their security deeply. Recently came across Immunefi and their bug bounty program on here, and wow, it totally changed my perspective on how security works.
Are DeFi Apps Really as Safe as They Claim?

Immunefi's pretty cool, but honestly, no amount of bug bounties will change my view of DeFi. It's still a hacker's playground with so much money floating around.
Thought you were finally posting something relevant. Checked the link, and surprise, it’s just the same old shilling. Can’t you come up with something better?

Forget the shill, man. Immunefi isn't the only way to keep things secure. Smart contracts have been audited forever by firms like OpenZeppelin. It's not like they suddenly appeared and fixed everything.
But here's the kicker. Some hacks come from insiders, not just outside attackers. Even a bug bounty won't help if an employee decides to pull a scam.
I mean, it makes total sense. DeFi is like a big target for hackers. Insiders might have the inside scoop on vulnerabilities.
So, you trust centralized exchanges more than DeFi? There are definitely secure DeFi options out there. It can be risky, but sometimes navigating through them is a blast.
Yeah, maybe for trading. But for actual use? Nah, I'm steering clear of most DeFi apps.

I get that, but finding the good ones can be fun! What if you just put a bit more effort into it?
Insider hacks are a real headache. Even with audits, if the team is shady, those audits mean nothing.
True that. Audits can miss stuff, and if the team is corrupt, you're just asking for trouble.
Bug bounty programs are good, but they don't make a protocol invincible. Many hacks come from boring stuff, like admin keys gone wrong.
Man, I once worked on a project where the creator just bailed after a scam. It sucked losing everything I worked for.

Right? Bug bounties show a team is somewhat serious about security, but it doesn't mean they won't still screw you over.
Exactly. Projects can brag about their bug bounties but might deny payout when bugs are found.
So true. Just because one platform has a good bug bounty doesn’t mean they won’t get hacked later.
Yeah, the system's flawed. Bug bounties help, but they won't save you from bad actors.
Remember, even big names got hacked. Binance and Bybit had their share of troubles, even with bug bounties.

DeFi isn’t as decentralized as it seems. Some projects cut corners to save money and then boom, disaster.
Honestly, nothing is fully secure. DeFi has potential, but it's risky if you don’t really know what you’re doing.
