Hey everyone.
I need some help upgrading my ASIC miners. My electricity is kinda limited, so should I go for 12 Bitmain 140TH XP for BTC mining or 12 L7 9.5Ghs for Scrypt? Thanks!
Advice on Upgrading ASIC Miners

You gotta give more info on your electricity situation. Do you mean like 10,000kw max or even less? What’s your power source, is it solar or just regular residential? By the way, what miners are you using now?
This is the BTC section, so I'd lean towards the 140TH XP. But let’s break down both options.
The 140TH XP is around 11.5k but won’t ship till March. The 95TH S19 is about 3.9k and ships in a week. The L7 costs around 14k with a shipping time of 10 days.
I’d suggest going for 4 S19 units for 16k, 4 L7s for 56k, and 4 140TH XPs for 48k. This way, you can mine with ⅔ of your gear now and get the rest next year.
Honestly, LTC seems dead. No new ATH in the last bull run, and it might keep performing poorly. With small-cap coins, the difficulty can spike fast, while BTC stays more stable. I’d just mine BTC if I were you.
Waiting for that shipment next year seems dumb, grab those S19 pros instead; they’re similar to the XP and available now.
Appreciate the info! Super helpful!
Thanks for the reply, it’s been great.
I currently have 22 S9Js and a Whatsminer M20S, with 12 plugs on 20-amp circuit breakers. L7s look more profitable, but who knows about the scrypt algo. For now, I think I’ll stick with the 140TH XPs.
