Why am I paying so much in fees after consolidating my Bitcoin?

This is basic stuff, but you need to know your UTXOs. High input counts mean higher fees because of the complexity of transactions.

If you want to reduce fees, consider consolidating your UTXOs when the mempool isn’t busy. Keeping an eye on those transaction sizes helps.
