So, the Smarter Web Company just announced they've got 2,674 Bitcoins, bought at an average price of over $111k each, and they lost around $100 million in just three months. Crazy right?
UK Bitcoin Firm Sticks to Its Strategy After $100M Loss

Andrew Webley, their CEO, says he's still gonna buy more Bitcoin. He insists that short-term losses won’t change their strategy. This isn’t a quick buck for him, it’s a long-term game.
Love that mindset! Long-term holding really pays off. Sure, it's rough now, but those who panic usually regret it later.
Not so fast. If they haven't sold, they haven't really lost anything, right? Sounds a bit fishy like they need some attention.
Exactly! If they’re holding, it’s only a loss on paper. The real test is if they keep their cool when the market turns.
But what about those who bought at the peak? Many thought Bitcoin was heading to 200k and ended up buying too high. That's rough.
Yeah, but the strategy here seems brave. They’re not just waiting for dips like most folks. Kinda refreshing.
I mean, still a loss is a loss, even if you don’t sell. People should be careful how they talk about it.
Dude, Bitcoin's been through this before! It always recovers. The waiting game is essential, just gotta be patient.
True but the bigger picture matters. Companies need cash reserves for these downturns. Can they keep buying while stock prices drop?
I think they pivoted to more of a Bitcoin treasury strategy now. Holding for a decade or more could change things.
Interesting point… but their average buy price might not look that good in ten years if the market doesn’t recover.

Webley says they’ll keep buying, but can he really handle a bear market? I wonder if he has the diamond hands everyone talks about.
As long as they don’t have to sell, they should be fine. Bitcoin is still Bitcoin honestly.
That’s the spirit! Just keep hodling. But yeah, losing $100m isn’t a small deal. Hope they don’t end up regretting it.

Right? Like, I get the long-term view, but that’s a hefty price tag for patience. Would I have the guts to do the same? Ngl, idk.
I think a lot of people could learn from this. Sure, it’s risky, but those with a long-term vision tend to do better.
You don’t lose until you sell. Those who panic are the ones who miss out when it rebounds.
Spot on! It’s all about strategy and sticking to your guns when things get tough.
But again, when you’re managing shareholder funds, it’s a different ball game. Can’t just ride out the storm like a personal investment.
