Governments have been pushing people down for ages. The Romans did it 2000 years ago, and look at us now. They’ve got all sorts of tricks: taxes, inflation, censorship... you name it. It's all about keeping power in the hands of a few while the rest of us suffer.

Yeah, and it keeps evolving. Those tactics might change, but the goal’s the same: control. We gotta remember that as we push for freedom.

Check this out... DEF CON 18 with Moxie Marlinspike. Talks about 'Crypto wars' and the Cypherpunk movement. It's super relevant.

Nice one, BitcoinFX! History is key, right? If we forget the past, how can we forge a better future? We gotta study these attempts at liberty to fight back against oppression. Mark Twain had a point: history doesn’t repeat but it sure rhymes.

Totally agree. Change can only happen if crypto evolves beyond what it is now.

For sure, but it’s tough. People need to stop being greedy. If we all just used Bitcoin instead of cashing out for fiat, we could really shake things up. But man, that’s easier said than done.

This Wired article is solid too... about Moxie Marlinspike and encryption. Essential for anyone into this space. But hey, he’s not Satoshi.

Good point. But this fight can't be on one person's shoulders. Many don't want to leave their comfort zone, especially the skeptics who call crypto a scam.

I get that. I’m not loyal to any one ideology either. I just want what's right. Sure, some ideas can get messed up, but we need something close to perfect. Maybe with some divine assistance.

Amazing that after b-money, we got Bitcoin, which is really shaking things up. So many projects and ideas, but only Bitcoin made a real impact. Appreciate you sharing all this info.

Same here. It’s wild to realize how much freedom Bitcoin could provide against oppressive tax systems. Education is key to show people its value.

Absolutely. We can’t force help on anyone, but we can spread the word and hope some people wake up.

Absolutely, BitcoinFX. If you have more insights on crypto-anarchism, let’s hear them.

Wow, I had no clue about the early days of digital cash. I knew about hashcash but b-money was new for me. So cool to learn how it all connects.

That reminder about learning from history is refreshing! In a world obsessed with quick wins, it’s nice to see depth.

There’s actually a thread here about the origin of 'cryptocurrency'... it’s crazy we don’t even know that for sure!

Honestly, all those systems are similar, just different names for control. A true republic, if it worked as intended, would protect our freedoms better.
