Crazy news about this crypto theft. Apparently, John, the son of the CMDSS CEO, swiped over $40 million from US forfeited assets after being insulted in a group chat. What a wild way to respond, right?

Honestly, I don’t get why anyone thinks a government contractor would use anything secure. It’s probably just terrible operational security. Forfeited assets are a mess in the first place.
Can’t believe this happened with government funds. They need to sort out a ton of audits now to recover their reputation and trust.
In a chat, John even showed off an Exodus wallet with $2.3 million worth of Tron. His dad’s responsibility is showing big cracks, man. Private keys probably just lying around for him to grab. Can’t believe he did it in public.

Saw this on X yesterday but missed the Telegram stuff. Imagine bragging about stealing from the government online. He must think he’s untouchable or something.
Or maybe he thought he’d get away with it. Classic move. Hope guys like this just fade away.
I keep thinking, why was it only his dad managing this? After reading more on the X post, seems like he was just handling altcoins.

Right? Kids these days, man. They show off and think they’re immune to consequences. It's happening everywhere. The rich kids just feel entitled.
I’m not jumping to conclusions, but it looks like the US government used a standard wallet. Otherwise, how could he access the seed phrase? A multisig setup would have made it way harder to pull this off.
The kid really messed up his dad’s business. This could ruin their contract with US Marshals. Just goes to show how weak their security was.
Seems like the dad was too trusting with his son. Didn’t think he’d do anything dumb, but look where that got them. This is a wake-up call for everyone.
Big question is: did the dad know? Giving one person control over that much money is just asking for trouble. Multisig wallets should’ve been the go-to.

It’s wild how he did this all to prove he’s not broke. Shows how bad peer pressure is today.
I doubt his dad was in on it. But man, both of them could end up in serious trouble because of this.
Yeah, the funds will probably get recovered, but it’s just tragic how this little stunt ruined their lives. Will they ever bounce back?
Some details came out in a private group chat where folks were flexing their wealth. One user showed off an Exodus wallet, totally clueless.
Exactly. Just goes to show how poorly some government workers handle security. Unbelievable.

What’s strange about this is it’s a common theft scenario. One: John is ridiculously reckless. Two: his dad is a total failure in security. Three: this company should never have been trusted.

I find it hilarious that people are baffled about how the kid accessed the wallet. Like, duh, his dad is responsible here! They clearly have a cozy relationship too.
