Looks like tariffs didn’t do much to affect the CPI after all.
The CPI numbers dropped and were lower than what everyone expected.
This might lead to a big pump for BTC and altcoins. What do you think is gonna happen in the next few months?
I’m betting on a new ATH for Bitcoin soon. Altcoins? Not too sure how they’ll perform but I feel BTC will hit at least $139k, maybe stop at $150k. Could be wrong though, just my analysis.
Respect for admitting your mistake, but I still think tariffs did play a role in CPI. Just not as much as the economists thought.
Check the previous CPIs vs the actuals from yesterday. Core CPI is up by 0.1%, and the overall CPI is up 0.3%, but yearly CPI is down 0.1%. Shows there’s upward movement, just not as dramatic.
I've noticed Bitcoin is reacting less severely to bad news lately.
With the CPI data and expert predictions, it kind of confirms my thoughts.
But honestly, this CPI data doesn’t reflect current grocery prices compared to last month. I bet a Bitcoin rally is coming, but not sure about altcoins.
I totally agree on the new ATH happening soon, especially with all the recent market movements.
Twenty One Capital just bought a massive $458m in Bitcoin. That’s gonna draw in more investors and push prices up. I’m thinking BTC could hit around $125k, maybe even more.
If you’re linking this to your previous thread, maybe you should have included a link for clarity.
Also, as we're still on this bull run, I expect us to break past the current ATH of $108k and aim for over $150k. Just a thought.
They couldn’t have affected it much:
The executive order on tariffs was signed on April 11 and took effect the next day. The CPI released covers all of April.
Most companies had stockpiles ready before the tariffs kicked in. Plus, imports are only a small fraction of the US GDP. This takes time to show in prices.
Maybe we should focus more on Bitcoin rather than altcoins.
In past ATHs, altcoins didn’t perform as well. Sometimes Bitcoin season doesn’t sync up with altcoin rallies.
When Bitcoin hits ATH, how and when is still up in the air.
Glad you acknowledged your wrong call. Not everyone can own up.
There’s definitely gonna be some FOMO in the coming months with this positive CPI news. It affects not just crypto but the whole financial scene, so I expect gains and possibly a new ATH.
This current rally doesn’t feel massive enough? I doubt CPI will dictate the next moves. It’s all about momentum now.
With everything easing up, I don’t see anyone slowing down.
A lot of folks were expecting these CPI numbers. The real issue is these reports reflect the past.
We might see future CPI data show the true effects of the tariffs. With this data, I’d say the Fed is likely to adjust interest rates soon, keeping us bullish for Bitcoin in the short to mid-term.
I’m not shocked if this price surge raises expectations too high. Remember, just like it shot up to $100k, it can also drop fast.
$150-$170k feels a stretch to me.
I doubt Bitcoin will see any major drops again.
Even if it does dip, it won’t hit last lows. The market is too strong now. With the tariff wars winding down, $150k is a fair target this year, especially with the bullish trends.
You already had a similar active thread on this topic.
Maybe update that one instead of starting a new one? It’d keep the discussion organized and avoid spamming.
Anything can happen, but there are reasons behind Bitcoin's price movements.
The drop to $74k was due to trade wars. Now, the news is looking good for Bitcoin. I agree, I can’t see it crashing back to those lows again.
I admire your confidence in Bitcoin, but let’s be real.
We can’t always predict the market. Sure, it might not drop to the 70k range again, but it could still dip from its current levels.
Bitcoin’s been stable around $103,744, but that doesn’t guarantee no dips.
My confidence is based on the recent upward trend.
Since Bitcoin crossed $100k on May 8, it hasn’t dipped below that mark. The market sentiment seems strong right now, indicating bullish moves ahead.
Not all CPI news is positive, some can pull the market down.
We gotta consider how this info is interpreted, as it’s a key focus for forex traders monthly.
A big bull run could be on the horizon, especially with all-time highs coming soon.
