Setting Up Electrum Node with Robostat for Anonymity

How do I set up an Electrum node to work with Robostat and keep my anonymity? Where can I find the node? Is the setup the same for all OS? I'm on Linux, by the way. Thanks!

I think you meant Robostat, right? Anyway, from what I know, you can only use ACINQ's node for creating a channel, it’s in their compatibility list. When making a channel, just choose "ACINQ" since it’s one of the default trampoline nodes in Electrum. If you want to use other nodes, you gotta turn off the "Use trampoline routing" in the settings.

Robostat. So, is there a fee to use ACINO's lightning nodes? How do I join? Should I set it up on my own machine? And when you say Electrum client, are you talking about the wallet? I have that. But what about the Electrum server or trampoline node? Which one is better for anonymity?

The only cost is the on-chain transaction fee to open the channel, it’s not like you’re signing up for a service. Just keep in mind that the bitcoins you use to fund the channel won’t be available for spending on-chain. You can use them on the lightning network though. Also, don’t forget, you need inbound liquidity to receive payments on lightning. You can either send some on the lightning network or do a "reverse-swap" to get it back to on-chain.
