Last year's FTX disaster didn’t help crypto at all, right? Now US regulators are finally stepping up with warnings to banks about crypto risks. The main issue? Lack of control in the market.

They said, risks that can't be managed shouldn't spill over into banks. I mean, that's a no-brainer. Just look at how the economy's been lately. Big chance they'll start blaming crypto for the next crash.

Checked out the PDF they released. It’s not all doom and gloom for crypto though. They talked about consumer protection too, not just warnings.

Central banks everywhere are doing this. It’s nothing new, not just about FTX. These warnings are mostly just noise, but they could push for clearer regulations and taxes. Better than endless court battles over lost funds.

Exactly, mixing Bitcoin with all those 20,000 other coins is part of the issue. I get why they’re worried. The altcoin scene feels like a casino sometimes. Fingers crossed Bitcoin stays a commodity and the rest are treated as securities.

Duh, crypto thrives on chaos! No control means it reflects human behavior on a huge scale. Other markets have regulations for consumer protection but crypto is a wild west. Expect more warnings from regulators globally.

If you wanna check if projects are in hot water with the SEC, there’s a site for that. I’ve heard of projects folding because they realize fines could wreck them. Some are just trying to close up shop before it gets messy.
