Ordinals are kinda a mixed bag for Bitcoin, you know? They bring cool innovations and new uses like NFTs and data storage but at the same time, they jack up transaction fees, making it harder for regular users who just wanna send BTC.
Ordinals: A Boon or Bane for Bitcoin?

Honestly, they’re a joke. Just a way for the devs to feel good about their little experiment while messing things up for everyone else. Transaction fees are through the roof, and it’s ruining Bitcoin's main purpose as a currency. It’s supposed to be fungible.
Yeah, ordinals are good for profit-hungry devs, but newbies are the ones getting wrecked. Just like those altcoin scams. Prices go up and then crash hard. Look at Ordi and others. NFTs just clogged the network until they flopped, too.
Come on, Bitcoin should just be left alone. Sure, some may say ordinals help miners but it’s not all about them. Increased fees and scalability issues drive away everyday users who just wanted P2P transactions. That's not what Bitcoin was built for.
This isn’t groundbreaking stuff. We had OmniLayer and Colored Coins ages ago for tokens and NFTs. Data storage can be done with OP_RETURN. If you wanna do that, just use Layer 2 solutions instead. So yeah, this isn’t really helpful.
I heard they're trying to bring Ethereum-like dapps to Bitcoin? Sounds sketchy to me. First time I'm even hearing about ordinals in this way. Honestly, Bitcoin just needs to stay as it is, a solid currency, nothing fancy.
Doubt the devs would go that route. Let Ethereum and its dapps deal with that. Bitcoin needs to stay simple and secure. Let's improve what we have before branching out. Specialization works.
We gotta look at this from all angles. Sure, transaction costs are up, but there are benefits too, like better use of block space. If we think critically, everything can balance out for the greater good.
The whole ordinal thing feels like a meme. Just pure speculation with no real use. Fees spike during minting events because folks think they’ll get rich quick. Now that hype is gone, fees are low again, so yeah, I think it’s bad.
Honestly, since 2017, Bitcoin's mostly used for big transactions. Everyone switched to Ethereum, and when that got pricey, they went to L2s like Arbitrium or Solana. Those are way faster and cheaper for small trades. Ordinals? They’re good, but demand’s just not there.

I’m not too clued up on ordinals but didn’t they congest the network last year? Left a bad taste for Bitcoin fans, even if they did expose some flaws. But now? Fees are lower than Ethereum, so they were just another hype. bad for the ecosystem.
