here’s a video of my S9 constantly rebooting... it’s really messing with my solo mining plans. I need to fix it or just look for a new one. just when I was scouting for miners too... ugh.
My S9 keeps shutting down, need help!

I saw a miner with an S19, just one board missing. seems pretty good for home use. thinking about snagging a few more S9s too.
S9 or S19? do you have any logs from your miner? would be helpful to take a look.
here are some screen grabs of my problematic S9. gotta figure this out.
looks like there’s a fan issue going on.
how do I fix the fan issue? do I have to replace the whole thing?
if the fan's bad just swap it out. where you based? USA or Canada?
you’re probably overheating since the cooling’s off. take the fan out, check the model, and order a replacement. don’t let it go on or you might damage the chips. repairs then get costly.
got it, I’ll hold off on using it until I can fix it. better to be safe.
just a heads up, if you’re into mining, learn the optimal chip temps. keep that info handy. establish a maintenance schedule, and replace thermal paste regularly. modern ASICs don’t forgive mistakes.
thanks for the tips! I’ll make sure to monitor everything and keep the thermal paste fresh. should I do that monthly or bi-weekly?
if you’re using cheap thermal paste, might need to swap it out monthly. but most miners don’t do that. quality paste can last 6-12 months, but if you’re overclocking, it can drop to 3 months. keep an eye on those temps. after overheating, I’d replace it for sure. aim for high thermal conductivity.

definitely gonna replace the fan for peace of mind.
peace of mind is key! a faulty cooling system can ruin everything.
newer miners? yeah, but you can adjust firmware on the S9 to disable fan checks. just be careful with overheating if you don’t have proper cooling.
back in the day, some people did DIY immersion cooling with mineral oil. it cuts down noise too.
I get that, but messing with firmware without monitoring temps? risky. S9 barely profits even with free electricity, and immersion cooling is extra cost.
even free power only gets you so much... like 70 cents a day.
I was making slightly over that when my S9 was working! sometimes hit about a buck a day. had it for 3 months, pulled in a bit over 90 bucks in BTC. family was shocked, like I made money appear, lol. now eyeing some good S19 miners that have a board removed for heat. thinking about it.

do you have free electricity or unlimited access?
