Did you guys hear about that huge crypto bust? They seized like 61,000 bitcoins, worth around $6.7 billion. Crazy stuff.
Massive $6.7 Billion Bitcoin Seizure and Its Implications

Yeah, saw that too. I'm curious about their security. Wonder if they’ll set up a US-style crypto reserve now.
Seizing that much bitcoin all at once is wild. But I wonder how they'll handle the victims getting compensated. Sounds like a long process.
Totally. They say they’ll hold the coins until they can reimburse victims, but what’s the verification gonna look like? And how did they store those bitcoins?
Definitely needs some serious investigation. It’s the biggest seizure ever, but I’m more interested in where that money came from. Was it drugs, scams, or something else?
Seems like they are catching more criminals these days. But yeah, I'm worried about how they’ll return the coins to victims. It’s such a mess.
It’s just sad how many people fall for those investment scams. Over 128,000 got rekt by this guy who took 61k BTC. Insane.
In the US, victims have to jump through so many hoops to get their money back. They end up giving up after a while. It sucks.
Right? And can you imagine the government might just hold on to those coins based on past dollar values? Plus, it’s sketchy how the guy went from a restaurant to a fancy house.
Yeah, and it’s weird that UK wants to keep the funds while China helped with the investigation. Feels kinda shady.

Older folks are easy targets for these scams. And many victims might not even be around anymore. Gov might just keep the coins.
True that. More fraud means more crypto for the government. Most people don’t wanna deal with the paperwork anyway.

I can't believe this guy got away with it for almost 11 years! How did he even pull it off? Seems too bizarre to me.

Just wait till they hit the markets with those seized coins... it’s gonna be wild.
