With AI tech booming, how solid are KYC measures anymore? Honestly, they feel pretty weak to me. What do you guys think we can do to verify identities better?

It’s like KYC isn’t really meant to fight money laundering but rather to hand over our crypto activities to the government. Sounds like a conspiracy, but it makes you think…
I remember someone mentioning that a trader had to snap a pic with a local newspaper just to verify their account. And now with AI, that’s a joke, right? Anyone can fake that.
Seriously, it’s mind-blowing how easy it is to replicate someone’s identity. It’s like hacking into exchanges just got a whole lot easier.

And don’t forget, there are groups out there buying accounts for exchanges! Even Binance claims facial verification, but people still find ways around it. Wild.
Yeah, and there are services that help people get through KYC. Some are scams for sure, but they exist.
Stats show crypto isn't even a major player in money laundering compared to fiat. Real estate and cash are still the go-to.

For real, AI is also being used for romance scams now. You can create a whole persona with fake images and videos. What a mess.
Exchanges will attract more of what they fear. Imagine dirty coins being laundered through KYC. It’s a slippery slope.
I mean, all these crazy KYC requirements just make it harder for legit users. Maybe we’ll have to start going to their offices for verification.
Next step might be AI detectors, but who knows how fast AI is evolving. All of this feels like an endless loop.
If KYC isn’t reliable anymore, why even bother? We’re just giving our info to be tracked later.
Exactly! The whole idea of KYC was always just a way to control us, not really about safety.
It’s a continuous battle of AI generation vs detection. I suppose that’s just tech evolution?
Governments are more interested in controlling AI than protecting our privacy. Like, let’s get real.
Everything has its pros and cons, including AI, but with these innovations, can we even trust what we see online anymore?
Handing over all your data to an exchange feels like a recipe for disaster. Just imagine how that info could be used against you.
It’s clear exchanges didn’t think this through. Impersonation is getting way too sophisticated.

Once KYC data is out there, it can be reused. That’s a huge risk we need to consider.

Regulations on AI companies might help, but with all this impersonation tech, where’s the line? Why allow this?
