I’m looking for some insights about the recent Bitcoin price movement. Feels like a trap to me, honestly. It might push past $117k to $118k, then drop like a rock. Looks like a retracement after a breakout, and there’s some consolidation going on. Something’s definitely brewing with the price action.
Is the Recent BTC Bounce a Bull Trap?

Today’s jump seems tied to Fed Chair Powell’s speech. It knocked the dollar down, which pumped up Bitcoin and gold too. Not saying it’s for sure, but Bitcoin reacted sharply from a key level on the higher time frames. Could be a liquidity grab or maybe it’s a sign of a continued bullish trend.
Didn’t see that pump coming based on yesterday's chart. Like @Hatchy mentioned, maybe the speech changed the game. ETH hit a new all-time high, and SOL was at 200. BTC wasn't as wild as the altcoins, suggesting cash is flowing more into ETH. I thought it was a bull trap too, but now I’m on the fence about it.
Haven’t checked the momentum behind this pump or compared buy/sell volumes yet. But as I said in another thread, I predicted a double bottom and we got it. Now I reckon we might hit that green trend line above $118k. If we do, a retracement back to the current level could happen before pushing towards $120k.

Honestly, I’m fine with whatever direction Bitcoin takes. If it goes up, altcoins usually follow and the market turns green. If it drops, we’ll see sell-offs, just like always. Not really worried about a crash after the breakout from $111k to $116k. Still buying crypto, no doubt.

After hitting $124k, things took a nosedive to $112k. Not sure if it’s a trap, but traders are definitely on edge. Now we’re back to $116k, but it’s the weekend. Hope it holds and gives us a good move next week. Just gotta be cautious, it’s hard to predict right now.
There's an imbalance in the Fair Value Gap, so I think it’ll get filled soon. Whether we bounce back will depend on if the FVG holds. If not, we could drop back down to around $112k. Powell’s speech flipped the sentiment from bearish to bullish fast. Historically, September’s been tough during bull runs though.
I don’t see it as a bull trap. Powell hinted at interest rate cuts in September, so this rally feels justified. Unless some bad news pops up, I doubt there’ll be a sudden dump. Looks bullish to me, aiming for new all-time highs soon, but who knows, I could be wrong.

BTC got outshined by Ethereum today with ETH breaking its ATH. Does this mean a shift in the leaderboard? Will BTC holders pivot to ETH or will Bitcoin keep its lead? With Powell hinting at rate cuts, folks are buying in for a bullish scenario, though I expect a retracement.
ETH's all-time high is still $4,891.70, but I saw it almost hit $4,884.23 recently. Powell's comments really helped bring back some bullish momentum. We hit $117k, but now we’re back around mid $115k. Still, a solid recovery, and I think we could hit $120k by month’s end.
We haven’t confirmed the rate cuts for September yet. They could easily change their minds, just like Trump did with tariffs. As for Ethereum, I doubt it’ll surpass BTC in rankings anytime soon; the market cap gap is still huge.

Some exchanges might show ETH surpassing ATH, like Binance, where it got close. But it’s not universally confirmed. It would be a circus if they don't follow through after that hint.
Looking at the chart, I see a potential pump above $117k, but then a correction to $114k seems likely. I doubt it’ll drop below that unless we hit support at $112k. Market sentiment is still bullish overall thanks to Powell’s news, encouraging more investment.
Bitcoin’s recent rise is tied to Powell’s speech about potential rate cuts. But looking at the daily candles, it might drop back. New investors seem to be trading, not investing for the long haul. If they pull out, Bitcoin could fall. Can the bulls defend it? I’m skeptical.

The market can be a trap for traders who don’t analyze properly. Not claiming to be a pro here, but it’s wise to be cautious. Sudden pumps often lead to quick drops. Best to wait until things stabilize before making moves.
BTC’s direction is still up in the air. The 100k-112k support area is still a decent entry point, but if we breach 100k, a deeper correction could follow. We’re not even halfway through the day, and a drop to 112k seems reasonable.
I thought Bitcoin would drop more, but then it shot up again. I sold some BTC yesterday, so I feel a bit foolish now. Powell’s speech changed everything, but I’m skeptical about the sustainability. Prices have dropped almost two thousand today; it might keep falling.
That’s true, Bitcoin’s dominance is still high and we’re not in an altcoin season yet. But with Bitcoin’s dominance declining, money is flowing into ETH and altcoins. If Bitcoin falls, altcoins will too, but not as hard as before. BTC hit $124k this month, but ETH’s just crossed $4.7k.

Exactly. Powell’s “maybe” on the rate cut got everyone hyped. This pump feels purely speculative. If there’s no cut, we could see a massive red candle to match the green one. So yeah, no need to get too hyped over news.
Are you implying Bitcoin is controlled by some dev group? Just sharing my thoughts here, but I’m still bullish on Bitcoin for the next few months. I doubt we’ll see a sharp drop to $17k again, but if it happens, I’ll be ready to buy the dip.
