Is getting paid in Bitcoin like DCA? A lot of folks here say receiving weekly payments from signature campaigns is DCA. But is it really? I mean, no capital's actually being put in to buy it, so is it income or investment?
It kinda depends, honestly. If you're spending those bitcoins right away, that’s not DCA. But if you hold onto them, I see it as DCA, even if the amounts aren’t always the same. Maybe needs more clarity in your first post.
Isn't putting aside part of your income to buy Bitcoin considered an investment? Most campaign rewards are in fiat anyway. As long as you’re getting them regularly, it seems like DCA to me.
Dude, you realize DCA means you gotta receive coins consistently, right? Like daily, weekly, monthly... And holding them is a must. So if you don't mention holding the coin, then it’s not DCA at all.
You might be overcomplicating what an investment is. You don’t have to get paid in fiat first to then buy Bitcoin. If you get paid in Bitcoin directly, that's just cutting out the middleman and still a solid investment.
Investment means you acquire something and hold it long-term, expecting its value to grow. It's all about fundamentals, not just price. If you focus on Bitcoin's actual value, you’ll see why it's worth holding.
You’re wrong saying there’s no capital involved. Who pays the signature campaign guys? That Bitcoin has to come from somewhere, probably exchanged from fiat. Even if it’s lost from gamblers, they had to buy it first.
Nah, getting paid in BTC doesn’t equal investing or DCA unless you’re holding it for the long haul. If you cash out right away, it’s just income, not investment.
Honestly, with DCA, it doesn’t matter how you earn Bitcoin, right? Whether you get paid in fiat or Bitcoin, if you’re accumulating it weekly, that’s DCA.
In most campaigns, payments are calculated based on USD rates, then paid in Bitcoin. So basically, we’re getting a certain USD value in BTC, which is what DCA is all about.
