Do Older Investors Have a Right to Cash Out?

I've been thinking a lot lately. It seems like many older investors who’ve been in the game for a while have stacked up their Bitcoin and are ready to sell part of it now. They’re banking on the price going up, while us newbies, like myself, just don’t have enough BTC yet to even think about selling. So we’re stuck buying in higher as prices rise.

Are you really thinking about giving up on Bitcoin? If not, then why the disappointment? It's still gonna break records and hit new highs. If your plan is to buy and hold, then stop stressing. We all start somewhere, so just focus on your strategy and make decisions that align with your goals.

Let’s get real. Are you not in it for personal gain? Can someone who just learned about Bitcoin ask an old-timer to sell them some at a low price? Come on. Everyone has their own motives, even if they come off as altruistic. So if an older investor sees your post and decides to give you a little of their stash, don’t think they pity you. It’s all about personal gain.

Life's unfair, deal with it. As for me, I’m not sure if I’ll sell during the next bull run. Hitting $100K isn’t a huge deal for me since it’s only doubling my investments. I might sell a bit and then wait for another bear market to buy more.

Sometimes I wish I’d recognized Bitcoin way sooner. But we can never know how things will play out. I’ve known about Bitcoin for a long time, and during the bearish phase from 2018 to 2020, I could’ve made a move. Now some of us feel regret watching older investors hold on, waiting for the next bull run. It’s a lesson learned.

Older investors are eyeing that sweet $100K mark to cash in on profits. Meanwhile, newer investors like me want the price to stay low for a bit longer to scoop up some BTC. And those procrastinators wish it would drop back to $15K just so they could finally get in. The market doesn’t care about our wishes.

Everyone wants higher prices after they invest in Bitcoin. For the older investors, it's about cashing in on their hard work. But that doesn’t mean they’re leaving forever. Even rich folks sell for a profit and then reinvest. You’ll eventually get the hang of it too.

It’s all about individual plans. An Apple stock buyer pays more than someone who got in a decade ago. Same with Bitcoin. Older investors can sell at whatever price they want, and we can aim for even higher milestones too. Stop fretting over the early birds getting all the worms. It’s about timing and mentality.

This is just how markets function. When one person sells, someone else buys. If we all decided to hold, there’d be no liquidity. New investors gotta avoid FOMO and try to buy the dips. Buying high is just asking for trouble.

Isn’t this just a bit hypocritical? You want the older investors to change their game for you instead of focusing on their own strategy? Trading is zero-sum. Not everyone gets to be happy, so just deal with it or step aside.

Let them sell what they want. One day, you’ll be the older investor selling to newbies. That’s just how life works. As someone said here: "The market is a pussy". If all holders agree not to sell below $100K, we could see that price in no time.

Not sure why you feel that way. We’ve all been new investors at some point. This forum can be really helpful. Sure, some older investors might seem a bit standoffish, but you get what you put in. My advice? Just go for DCA. That’s how I got started and it eases the stress about pricing.

People are just trying to do what works best for them. Some got in when Bitcoin was dirt cheap and they should be allowed to sell for profits. No need to be offended by others’ choices. If profit’s your goal, then aim for what those older investors have with some patience.

What’s up with this? Did anyone tell you Bitcoin is a family affair? This industry is every person for themselves. If you were in the shoes of those old investors, would you wait around for anyone? Where were you when they were investing years ago? Everyone has their own path.

Yeah, I get that. But not yet time for me to sell.

Even if they asked, I wouldn’t sell now. My investment’s too fresh. I’m not ready to part ways just yet. This topic wasn’t meant to be selfish; it’s more about humor and how we all deal with these market phases.

Seriously, picking personal gains over others? Are you being sarcastic? Every investor, new or old, wants profits. If those old investors want to cash out, that’s their choice. New investors are waiting and willing to buy at whatever price, that’s just how it goes. And let’s not forget the time older investors have spent waiting.

You’re complaining for your own benefit. Think long-term. Someday, another newbie will be saying the same about this cycle. It’s normal. Just set your goals and make plans before jumping in.

The market’s always got sellers and buyers. Those early investors are winning now, and they’ll keep winning as the market trends up. If someone told us to invest ages ago and we ignored it, that’s on us. Risks bring rewards, but not all risks are worth taking, and Bitcoin just happened to be one of those rising stars.
