Hey all, I’ve been reflecting on how much has shifted since I jumped into this space back in 2017. The ICO craze was wild, but honestly, the real test was 2020 when COVID hit. I distinctly remember when BTC plummeted to around 4k. Everyone was losing it, calling it the end of crypto. But with my background in quality and safety, I saw it as a serious trial for the whole system. Turns out, Bitcoin really showed its strength that day.

Didn’t change my thoughts on risk management though. I just kept buying during the dips and held onto my coins until things looked better. Honestly, I didn’t freak out when the pandemic started, though everyone else was in panic mode. I get it, but I think long-term. If Bitcoin’s cheap, you just gotta buy and hold, right?

For those who were around before 2017, all this feels like a calm sea. Check this out from 2009 to the end of 2017, Bitcoin exploded by 14 million times. But since then, it’s been way more stable… only up like 4.68 times. Litecoin’s been similar too. It feels like a shift in how we’re seeing these coins.

When COVID hit, a lot of folks just stopped investing. Safety became the priority, and understandably so. But it's strange to think how scared some people were about their crypto investments. Everyone was just trying to stay healthy but worrying about funds too.

Yeah, I remember 2017 vividly. I got burned a bit, but not too bad. Managed to liquidate some not-so-great investments and got back into Bitcoin. Honestly, risk management didn’t really shift for me. It was a crazy time, sure. But as things progressed, it became clear Bitcoin would make it through, and my confidence just kept growing.

Those stats really hit home! The foundation was laid pre-2017, but we’re definitely in a different era now with Bitcoin maturing into a serious asset. I mean, during the pandemic, I didn’t panic like most people. Buying Bitcoin while it was low just made sense to me. HODL game is strong, right?

I’d say it’s more about adapting than changing. 2020 wasn’t the end for crypto; I feel like we could face even worse times ahead. If there’s a WW3 kinda situation, that’ll be a whole different level compared to 2020 or even the drops we've seen since.

Love that idea of adaptation! In my studies, we look at resilience in systems, not just avoiding breaks. Adapting is key; it reflects the robustness of the network itself. Like, looking at that October crash… it really tested liquidity hard. 2020 was crazy, sure, but we might see tougher times in the future.
